Key Experience
Commercial Smartphone Architecture and Productization:
Over a decade of leading the entire development cycle for commercial smartphones, achieving the proposal, development, prototyping, mass production, and launch of two models per year.
Managed cross-functional teams to ensure on-schedule progress in areas such as Snapdragon-based multimedia subsystems, camera module integration, power-saving optimization of module operation time, and seamless coordination between cellular, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi controls—always adapting to Qualcomm BSP release schedules and change requirements. Oversaw regular follow-ups on technical challenges and anticipated risks, managing team and project KPIs to prevent oversights or delays.
Maintained close communication with component manufacturers to avoid delivery delays, performance shortfalls, or quality variations. Conducted regular roadmap and detailed schedule reviews to manage the overall project schedule and bill of materials (BOM) costs, coordinating not only with the development group but also with the procurement team.
Telecom connectivity Integration:
Led projects to solve connectivity issues as a team by coordinating the field testing group, wireless design group, and modem software integration group for network-level connectivity testing with carrier infrastructure (such as 4G LTE base stations) and other carrier-side servers. For OTA (Over-the-Air) updates, worked closely with carrier-side servers for both test and production environments, handling broad partnership coordination including schedule alignment.
Cross-disciplinary Project Management:
Oversaw software and hardware design reviews, PCB layout validation, prototype-to-mass production planning, BOM/cost management, and budget control.
Notable Projects
